The aim of the workshop was to give design teachers an overview of current trends in digital communication, and to discuss the wider implications of digitization for the role of designers and for society as a whole.
In the creative practice module, teachers were asked to emphasize with their "user group", i. e. their students, and think of a common problem that students might encounter on a day-to-day basis. Then the teachers were asked to come up with a digital solution for this problem and to visualize their idea. They were given three questions to base their prototype on: Why is the product relevant? What is its specific use for the audience? How does it work?
In the weeks following the workshop, the teachers implemented ideas, creative techniques and tools from the workshop into their lectures and student projects.
